The Leo

Jacket: Burberry, Dress: TopShop via Nordstrom, Bag: Rochas, Sunglasses: Tom Ford, Flats: Isabel Marant

You know it's spring time when you can start wearing flats everyday. No more socks, just cute little flats. It seems every spring I get a new pair of flats that I get obsessed with. Where in fact I wear them with every outfit possible. My spring flats this year are the Leo by Isabel Marant. I think they look fabulous with everything. Here are two different looks with my spring flats.

 Flats: Isabel Marant

Happy spring flats everyone and enjoy the weather! JH

Blue Hawaii...

We visited one of my all time favorite places Shangri La...owned by Doris Duke and now the Honolulu Museum of Art. Doris Duke was a wealthy socialite in the 1930s, and was one of the wealthiest people in the world at the time. She was a very adventurous woman and loved to travel. On her honeymoon around the world she traveled to the middle east and fell in love with Islamic art. On her way home she stopped in Honolulu, Hawaii and decided she wanted to build a home there. The home is called Shangri La, it has one of the world's leading collections of Islamic art. As she was building and transforming Shangri La it took on a different purpose for her. She wanted to be able to share her love of Islamic art and her beautiful home, so that is what she did. Shangri La is now a museum tour. I highly recommend you go and see Shangri La. It will inspire you!

Outfit One:

This dress is so good...I love it so much. It's the perfect summer dress. In the evening I put a plum cardigan over the dress and buttoned it up and it looked fabulous. Zimmermann did an awesome job picking this pattern. Take a look at the Zimmermann collection at Anthropologie.

Outfit Two:
Dress: Zimmermann via Anthropologie also seen here, Clutch and earrings: Anthropologie

I bought this dress at Anthropologie about a year ago, maybe even two years, but I love it so much. I feel like it's a dress you only wear somewhere tropical. I have have worn it twice, once in Bangkok and now Honolulu, maybe I'll try Denver next. Even though it's not tropical.

Outfit Three:
Necklace: Anthropologie

Hawaii was fabulous but I am happy to be home back with my boys aka the dogs and back at work. Hope you are enjoying the nice spring weather. JH

The flare

Jacket: Cynthia Vincent (old), Top: Kate Spade via Nordstrom, Turtleneck: Anthropologie
Jeans: Pilcro via Anthropologie, Clogs: Rachel Comey via Goldyn, Bag: Céline, Earrings: JCrew, Sunglasses: Fendi

How do you feel about the FLARE....flared jeans have never been on my radar. Until a very stylish lady at work had them on and I decide to try them out. They are high-rise and fit tight around your hips making your booty look amazing also making your legs look a million miles long. The flare is growing on me but it won't be something I wear everyday. Go out there and get out of your comfort zone you may just find new jeans that make you feel amazing and make your booty look even more  amazing! Have a fabulous weekend. JH

Spring teaser

sweater: Jcrew, Skirt: TopShop via Nordstrom, Shoes: Valentino, Bag: Céline via Barneys, Sunglasses: Fendi

It seriously felt like Spring the other day...it was a Spring teaser. It was beautiful out and though my white legs were not ready for the nice weather, I thought I should take advantage of it. Well now it is snowing outside, it fell right back into winter wonderland. It's fall fashion week in New York and there have been some amazing shows. So far I have loved Coach...which I was surprised by. Also Altuzarra, Jason Wu, Creatures of the Wind, Zimmermann, Prabal Gurung and Sally LaPointe. So many more I loved but check out the fashion shows...fall fashion is SO good. JH

Light up your life

Dress: Anthropologie, Sweater: Jcrew, Boots: Stuart Weitzman, Clutch: Phillip Lim, Sunglasses: Tom Ford

I just got home from taking fabulous craft classes in Tucson with some crazy craft ladies. Aka Ruth, Dana and Dr. Nancy! We had the best time making crafts, exploring Tucson and the gem show. You can check out my photos of Tucson on my Instagram at Modern Frank.
If you ever have a dress that just isn't working, try layers. I have so many dresses I buy and then decide they are too low or just don't look right, then what...a waste of money..NO! Try sweaters over the dress or a cardigan or a button down shirt then a sweater over that. There are endless things you can do to recreate an outfit. Go try and see how creative you can get.
Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday! JH
